Located just outside the town of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, North Wilkesboro Speedway is one of NASCAR’s most iconic short tracks. Known for its steep banking, uphill–downhill layout, and old-school racing atmosphere, the Speedway hosts headline NASCAR events alongside a full weekend of fan activities. With downtown North Wilkesboro only a short drive away, many fans turn race weekend into a longer stay in the region.
Race weekends bring heavy traffic, especially close to the Speedway. Arriving early is highly recommended. If you hold a parking pass, check your confirmation carefully, as certain lots require specific access routes. Local law enforcement and Speedway staff manage traffic flow and will direct vehicles as parking areas open.
From the West / Downtown North Wilkesboro
Follow US-421 East and use the signed exits for North Wilkesboro Speedway. Continue to follow event signage and instructions from traffic officials.
From the East (Winston-Salem)
Take US-421 West toward North Wilkesboro. Exit as directed for the Speedway and follow on-site signage.
From the South (Charlotte area)
Use I-77 North, then connect to US-421 North toward North Wilkesboro. Follow Speedway exit signs as you approach.
From the North (Virginia)
Take US-52 South, then join US-421 West toward North Wilkesboro. Continue following the event signage to the track.
